Unable to start up DataCleaner on Mac (any version)

I just read through which is very similar to my case, but upgrading Java didn't help.

When I click at the nothing happens.
When I use terminal:
$ open
I got
LSOpenURLsWithRole() failed with error -10810 for the file/Desktop/DataCleaner/

$ Java -version
java version "1.8.0_101"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_101-b13)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.101-b13, mixed mode)

OSX logs says:
17.10.16 21:39:13,086 Dock[251]: no information back from LS about running process LSASN:{hi=0x0;lo=0x443443}

17.10.16 21:39:13,425[1]: ([57498]) Service exited with abnormal code: 1

Anyone have any ideas?
Thank you so much,

Hi Martin,

Have you tried to right click on the and click "Open with jar Launcher" ? This thread might help as well:

Otherwise, there is the alternative to open DataCleaner as a simple Java program:
Go to DC installation folder, locate the "DataClener.jar" file, open a command line and run "java -jar DataCleaner.jar"

I hope this helps.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Hey Claudia,
Thank you for quick support.

I gave it a try. Not sure if I followed the advice correctly when run
I:DataCleaner user$ chmod +x
but it didn't help.

When I open the package, there is any file called "DataCleaner.jar"

I've downloaded the latest version DataCleaner 5.1.3

Hi Martin,

The path to the installation folder should be "/Applications/DataCleaner". That where you will find the "DataCleaner.jar" file.

* I've downloaded the
* Unzipped the package
* Drag and drop onto Applications folder in Finder
* Double clicked the /Applications/ and nothing happens. The DataCleaner icon only blink in a Dock for a second.

The app can't be opened nor installed. So I'm missing the "/Applications/DataCleaner" folder.

Hi Martin,

I have assumed you were using the trial version for DataCleaner professional.
You have downloaded the community edition for DataCleaner. That one unfortunately doesn't work. You can try the DataCleaner professional edition which works on Mac.

You can download it from here:

Oh, that explains a lot.
I wanted to give you a try, but 30days-trial doesn't fit my needs, so I'll stick with Data Science Studio.

Thanks for your support
