Topic: save profile results
save profile results
Has anyone written an adapter to save the profiling results to a formatted file or database that they would be willing to share? I like the profiling but need to load the results into a repository for others to use.
Thanks

Sounds a lot like what they have ramped up for DataCleaner 3.0 ... Not sure if you can wait for that? Especially since I dunno when it's done :-)
Thanks for mentioning that beno. Actually the DC 3.0 version is looking more and more like it's ready for beta testing etc.
Scott - maybe you'd like to test it out for us and let us know what you think. That could hopefully fix your issues and also give us some good feedback on our current developments?

I would be willing to test.
OK will try a build ready for you soon.
Sounds good. I will watch for your message.
Hi scott,
Good news. The alpha release has just been uploaded to sourceforge. Please read the installation instructions (and get the files) on this page:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/datacleaner/files/datacleaner%20%28unstable%29/3.0-alpha/
Good luck with the install, and please let us know how it turns out.

Kasper,
I just tried DataCleaner from the URL you have given here. That was excellent, I could save the results as it is in HTML and in fact all the links in the Analysis results are working in the HTML too. That's great. For sure, I am a fan now. When is the Beta release/final release planned. Could not wait more.

And we will continue to test it. Just first few runs. Let you know the results on this page as and when I run it.
Great to hear that you like it :-)
Beta release: A few days.
Final release: Expect end of the month :-)

Kasper,
Thank you very much for the information. Meanwhile we are trying the tool. Would there be the functionality of storing to the Database also, just asking out of curiosity. Do you have any plans for that kind of functionality.

Hi Veerala,
Yes, storing to a database is something we are offering in the commercial/enterprise edition of DataCleaner. As a repository option and as a cache option. The community edition will only include a file based repository.

Kasper,
I am interested to know the format of the file based repository : HTML?

No it is not stored as HTML, but the application can deliver the content in HTML format. The individual profiling results are stored as binary files, just like the .analysis.result.dat files of the DC desktop application. They can then be rendered as HTML, or they can be used to extract specific metric values that you wish to plot on a timeline chart, receive notifications from etc. etc.
Veerala: Beta is available now. Here:
